REVIEW: Maxasorb Melatonin Cream For A Good Night’s Sleep!

Good Morning, lovelies! How did you sleep?

I recently have been having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. Then I saw an opportunity to apply to review the Vita Sciences Maxasorb Melatonin Cream through Brand Backer. I applied and thankfully was chosen to receieve the product for free to try.

Of course, just because I receive something for free to try doesn’t mean I am paid to say positive things about the product. I always give my 100% honest review of whatever product I try. I try to give best information possible so you can decicde if a product is right for you.

On to the review!

How I use this product:
The directions say to rub one pump of the cream on your arms and legs before bedtime. One pump equals 3mg of Melatonin. I like to use this product in combination with my normal bedtime relaxation routine. I like to take a shower or bath and then apply the cream. I then  make a cup of sleepy time tea while I finish up any little tasks before actually getting into bed. Now, I know if you have children to care for you might not have time to sip tea or take a bath. So you could apply the cream quickly and let is sink in while you get your children ready for bed. Then, by the time they are asleep you will be feeling relax and ready for bed yourself.

Does It Work?
I would say it definitely relaxes you and allows you to fall asleep fast. It is very relaxing. I mean floating on a cloud in a tranquil garden type of relaxed. It will seriously relax you. I think it did also help me stay asleep and wake up rested. I used it on my husband a couple nights too because he was having trouble sleeping and his bouncing around was keeping me awake. He said it did make him feel very relaxed too. My husband has this weird sleeping leg twitch thing that I am not even sure he really knows he does but the nights I applied the cream to him, he wasn’t twitching as much which helped me sleep. Yay!

I have tried other Meltonin pills in the past and they all gave me crazy weird dreams but I didn’t notice that with this product which is great.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is having a hard time falling asleep or staying asleep.

Other Potential Uses:
Based on my experience I can think of some travel-related situations in which I will use this cream.

  • Overnight flights
    • This would have been great for our 9 hour flight to Brazil last year.
  • Hotel stays
    • I don’t know about you but I sometimes have trouble sleeping well in hotels. I think would help make any relaxing vacation even more restful.
  • Jet lag
    • After you return from a trip to another time zone it can be hard to get your sleep schedule regulated so I think this might help.
Product Details:
Contains 60 doses. Each dose is 3mg of Melatonin

I’m back +apologies!

Happy Monday…

So I know in one of my last YouTube videos I said I would be posting a lot on my blog while I was gone to Brazil but it turns out our wi-fi was not strong enough to publish the posts from my phone. So, I saved all of the drafts and I will be publishing them this week from my regular laptop.

I’m so sorry. I think the high volume of wi-fi users at our hotels and area cafes made it impossible to upload large amounts of data. I was able after 5 attempts to publish a pre-recorded video. It was my Bare Minerals Skincare Review.

You can see it here:

Let me know if you have any comments or questions about this skincare line. My skin is really enjoying it.
I hope you all had a great 2 weeks and I look forward to getting back into the swing of regular video and blog post uploading.
Have a great week!

Sneaky Travel Tip

While I was packing for my 2 week Brazilian adventure I thought of an interesting way to safeguard my digital camera.

WARNING: Awkward Topic Alert!
Let’s face it no one likes tampons or the topic of menstruation. The mere sight of feminine products makes some people feel uncomfortable and talk in a hushed voice. *Whispers* “Psst! Do you have…um…a tampon?”
So I’ve decided to prey on this awkwardness and conceal my camera in an empty tampon box. My thinking is that a woman won’t open the box unless she desperately needs a tampon and a male will most likely leave it be due to the ick-factor previously mentioned.
Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever used a sneaky trick like this to safeguard your valuables. I would love to know!
Bom dia!

Video: Holiday Health Travel Essentials

Hello again,
I hope you are having a great week. Today I wanted to share with you a little something different: a video!
Today I am traveling back to my hometown for a 10-day trip to celebrate the holidays. I couldn’t be happier to spend time with loved ones but unfortunately my family and my husband’s family have all been sick. Last year I came down with a horrible flu on Christmas Eve so this year I am packing an artillery to protect myself against those nasty cold and flu viruses. I hope you enjoy this little video and please let me know if you would like to see more videos.

I would love to know your recommendations for vitamins or supplements. Let me know below or tweet me @imperfectperla

How To Tuesday: Make Your Own Healthy, Travel-Friendly Coffee Creamer

Happy December Lovelies!

Today we’re talking about one my favorite things in this whole wide world: coffee. During the colder months I like to change up my morning coffee routine and add some creamer. There is just something so comforting about a hot, creamy cup of coffee on a chilly winter morning.  Usually I like to add almond, soy, or coconut milk as my creamer but I have been traveling a lot lately and it’s not easy to constantly have one of those on hand.

So, I did some experimenting and found a way to create my own healthy travel-friendly dry coffee creamer. I know many people will be traveling for the holidays so I thought I would share this quick little “How To” in case you want to try it for your next trip.

I actually made this specific batch last week when I was traveling to a tiny town in Mississippi and I knew my options would be limited. I packed it beside the baggie of stevia packets that permanently lives in my purse.

What You Need:
~1-2 Scoops protein powder. Mine is the Vanilla Nutribiotic
~1-2 Packets of Stevia
~ 1 tbsp. Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (You can add more or less depending on what you prefer)

You just pour the ingredients into a travel size baggie and shake, shake, SHAKE! Make sure it’s  closed all the way before shaking. I learned the hard way.
It should look something like this:
Tip: I have found the best way to mix this into coffee is to add the creamer to your cup first with a little bit of coffee. Then, with a fork mix in the creamer really well. Add the rest of your coffee to the cup and enjoy! If you are at a coffee shop you can also ask the barista to add a splash of soy milk, which will help the creamer more easily blend.
Essentially the protein powder and stevia are the base for your creamer but you can add in whatever flavorings your like.

Here are some other flavor combinations I want to try:
Peppermint Mocha: Chocolate protein powder, stevia, cocoa, crushed all-natural peppermint sticks.
Flavor Of Fall: Vanilla protein powder, stevia, nutmeg, and cinnamon
Chai: Vanilla protein powder, cinnamon, allspice, and clove.
White Chocolate Mocha: Protein powder, cocoa, stevia, natural white chocolate chips (I found some at Trader Joe’s)
Peanut Butter Cup: Chocolate protein powder, cocoa,  stevia, and PB2
Let me know if you have any other flavor ideas in the comments below or tweet me @imperfectperla
Have a great day!
